Kingdom Inc. (Part 2)
Life happened in lightning speed for me mid-November 2017. I had just gotten married, moved from California to Florida the day after. With me getting acclimated to my new life as a new wife, I didn’t think I had the time to start a blog back up again. However the burning desire was still there. Some nights I wouldn’t be able to sleep because of it.
Early Thanksgiving morning, my husband wakes up and sees me sitting up awake in bed. “I don’t know what you’re afraid of. You know what you need to do,” he mumbles and falls back to sleep. I stare at him for a brief moment already sleeping soundly. He’s totally right but I was still afraid of epically failing again. Night after night for 6 days I couldn’t sleep until. I had enough. Late one night on November 30th, my blog “Love Grace and Light” was finally created.
“Okay Lord,” I silently prayed while typing. “We’re on ‘take two’ with the blog start up. I have NO CLUE what I’m doing, I’m nervous but I’m ready to do Your work again. I will trust YOUR process, step out of faith, and keep going no matter how many people read the blog this time. I’ll let YOU lead and guide me. This blog belongs to You.”
Daily to every other day, I wrote about the lessons and the love that God has shown and given me in my walk with Him. Prayer was my solid anchor as I asked God to supervise and constantly guide me step-by-step in building this blog. During my daily morning devotionals, I found comfort and reassurance in Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” “Oh Sweet,” I thought. “I guess I won’t be totally clueless doing this after all. You’re awesome, Lord. Thank You.”
Along with fine tuning and adding more content to my blog page, God instructed me to reach out to a larger demographic using Instagram. It would be a great way to connect with not only other Christian bloggers but also the hurting, lost, and those needing encouragement. This would also direct others to my blog page as I candidly and briefly shared what God has been doing in my day-to-day life.
When God calls us to something, He doesn’t leave us left in the dark about His plans for us. While we may not know the intricate details on the ins and outs of the plans, we can certainly trust Him and stay obedient in His in teaching and instruction even if it doesn’t make sense.
We are to make sure also that we don’t charge ahead of God especially in an endeavor that is foreign or new to us because we think in our own minds what’s coming up ahead but we aren’t to lag behind because of self-doubt, lack of resources, and fear. Any sized detail or instruction that God gives us is just the right amount of information we need in order to fulfill His Will.
For about a month and a half, while building my blog and social media presence, hardly anyone read my posts. Though it was often discouraging and disappointing as I fought the constant lies Satan threw at me as blogger, I continued to persevere to with fixing my eyes on Christ and prayer. It wouldn’t be until mid-January that I would see even the slightest bit of consistent traffic on my blog site and my Instagram page.
One afternoon early January 2018, I was blogging at my in-laws house. My older brother Chris and his wife Elaine stopped by. After exchanging big hugs and pleasantries, Chris asked me what I was working on. “I’m working on a blog.” I replied. “You have a blog?” He asked. I looked up from my computer and explained to him, “Oh yeah, It’s a Christian Blog and I’ve been working on it for about 2 months now.” He looked up for a moment then at me with a grin as if he had an idea, a very BIG and cool idea.
Whatever idea he was brewing, I was highly curious wanting to find out what he was thinking but at the same time concerned. Generally, big and cool ideas usually take financial resources and I definitely didn’t have that being that I’m unemployed. God promised that He would see me through and instruct me in all this. So what’s the big idea? Find out on Kingdom Inc. Part 3
